My Journey
How can we bring the wisdom of this ancient practice of yoga into our modern world?  This is the question I am always striving to answer.  This ancient practice has the ability to transform our lives and I would love to share that with you.  After discovering Vinyasa flow yoga in 1997, I knew immediately and intuitively that this was what my body needed.  The linking of breath and movement to the postures inspired me to learn more.  What I didn’t realize initially, was how much it would transform not only my body, but my mind and spirit as well as provide guidance on my life journey. 

I received my 200-hour level Hatha Yoga Certification through Jonny Kest Center for Yoga in 2001 and 2004.  This training entails comprehensive instruction in asana, pranayama, meditation, and practice teaching. I am also a certified Yoga Tune Up teacher since 2015 and trained in the Roll Model Method. Yoga Tune Up is a fitness therapy format designed to help eradicate pain, improve posture and enhance performance through a unique blend of yoga, corrective exercise, self-massage, and breath strategies.
  Through the years I have done a variety of workshops and additional teacher training with many inspiring teachers such as Bryan Kest, Beryl Bender Birch, and Cyndi Lee. I continue to seek out workshops and further training that influence my classes and enhance the practice I share with my students. I teach private sessions and  classes to the general public, as well as college-credit classes through Jackson College. 
 
My Classes
You will not get chanting, gongs, or loud music in my class. I have been known to occasionally “Om," but first I’ll help you understand what it means and how it can reverberate with you. Particular attention is paid to proper alignment and developing your awareness of body and mind.  I want you to feel comfortable, yet challenged, calm and focused while in a demanding situation. Our daily lives are full of stress. The practice on the mat can help us off the mat. Yoga can help us live a more peaceful life and spread the best part of ourselves out into the world.  My yoga journey is an ever-changing one and I hope to share it with you.
